Well where to start- we were fortunate enough to find this gem of a place for our destination wedding and what a gem it is. We decided on a small family wedding/ holiday and from the moment we arrived it was all magical. The chateau was everything we had imagined and more, we were lucky enough to call it home for a week. Joanne was a pleasure to deal with in the lead up to our day and was available to us day or night to answer any questions we had. We hadn't viewed the chateau before we booked but are glad now we didnt as we got to be wowed the same as all our guests when we arrived. We had thought we would get a few days to go exploring all the nearby attractions but we honestly never wanted to leave. Everything you could possibly need for a family getaway is onsite, and it even seemed a shame to be by the pool in the sunshine when the interior was so beautiful. As for the wine cellar, thats what most of our guests are still talking about. They made great attempts to empty it out but alas it couldnt be done! All the staff that came onsite for our wedding were amazing and very helpful to us in many ways. Big thanks to isabel for all her translating and food suggestions, jean-marc for our bbq and wedding meal, victoria for transport& moira for the beautiful ceremony, Not forgetting annette and claire for making us beautiful on the day and faith for the beautiful flowers. We only wish we could get married there every year 😊
From the initial booking to the day of our departure after our daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and John Bettley-Smith's wedding on 28 May 2017, everything was perfect. The chateau is stunning and has all you could wish for. We could have stayed for longer. The teams of Jo and Jean-Marc were friendly, efficient and oh so helpful. We cannot thank them enough for making the weekend and especially the wedding day so delightful and memorable.Keith and Gwen Mountain
Wonderful venue for a magical wedding! Have loved staying here in this majestic Chateau and soak up the grounds, peace and queit! Not to mention the delicious wine at our disposal from the wine cellar! A very special stay.
We had an amazing time staying at this fairy tale castle, such a beautiful place! The wedding day was prfect and wouldn't have changed a thing!
Getting Married at Chateau De Lisse was the best decision we ever made. We fell in love with the castle the first time we went to see it 2 years before we got married. We feel so privileged to be able to stay there for a week with our closest friends and family, after a while it felt like home and we did not want to leave. The whole place was so magical and with the help from Jo and her team our wedding day was completely perfect. All the suppliers Jo put us in touch with were so helpful and created every special moment we asked for. Our friends are calling it the best wedding ever and are still talking about it over a month later. We decided to have our wedding meal out on the terrace, the weather was amazing in late June would definitely recommend. The food by Jean Marc was to die for and the wine and champagne did not stop flowing. We were in the most beautiful Area, the most romantic chateau and Jo and her team were so helpful nothing was a problem. Thank you for making our week the best week of our lives completely unforgettable xxx
Thank you for such a fabulous venue.A special thanks to the waiting staff for going above and beyond. We can't wait for our anniversary party in a few years!
Simply the most outstanding wedding venue in France. No one expects their wedding day to be anything other than magical, special and wonderful, especially one in the entrancing Chateau De Lisse. Set in beautiful and breath-taking grounds, landscaped thoughtfully and in keeping with the history of the property, this magnificent French castle is as beautiful and fascinating as you would expect from the pictures. Our 34 close family members spent a wonderful week there. I could go on about the stunning chateau but the website shows you all you need to know. Instead I want to express what has changed us as a family since being there. We are all closer across the two families from spending time together in such a magical place and we all have memories that will last forever. Since being there we have arranged two further family gatherings and are working on a third. That affect is priceless. On our wedding day the unthinkable happened. My 80 year old Dad, Father of the bride was taken ill and had to go to hospital along with Mother of the Bride and a translator (our guest and also photographer). All was well in the end and he was out of hospital and resting that evening. Jo and Jean-Marc managed to reorganise the wedding without any notice, to the following day (which was Mothers Day in France) using their children to assist in order that we could still have our magical wedding day with everyone present. Jo, still recovering from a broken arm gave up her precious Mothers day and put our day first. I cannot thank her and Jean Marc enough for turning what could have been an absolute nightmare into a dream come true. The commitment and love that she showed us and our families in our hour of need was second to none and something we will never forget and that’s what makes Chateau De Lisse the most outstanding wedding venue in France!
Having our wedding at Chateau de Lisse was just magical – the best decision we made! Everyone is still talking about it… Our own 14th century chateau for 3 days… we felt like kings and queens. What a privilege to become a part of its history. It is the most breathtaking venue, full of old charm, a hint of mystery, and so tastefully and comfortably decorated. The grounds are stunning and there are endless beautiful spots for wedding photos. We had always wanted an outdoor wedding…. we were lucky that the rain held out, and it was a warm day for April. The grass was full of daisies, the cherry blossom was blooming, there were horses in the neighbouring fields… it was so romantic, beyond my wildest dreams. Jo was absolutely wonderful in helping with preparations for the wedding, always quick to reply to emails, respectful of budget, and all of her suggested suppliers were fantastic (highly recommend the accordion player, Clara, perfect for the French touch). We had 50 guests and the Grand Salon was the perfect size for our more intimate wedding reception. We set up our own photobooth in the gorgeous Piano Room and it was such a hit. Loved also dancing the night away in the stone-walled Salle de Danse... The chateau wine was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed by all our guests, including many wine lovers from Australia and South Africa. It was also fantastic being able to cater for ourselves aside from the wedding meal, something that many chateaux do not offer. We had a magnificent BBQ on the 'recovery day', which was sunny and warm, such a treat. Even the appearance of peacocks strutting along the wall on the upper terrace contributed to the fairytale feeling. Our only regret... is not booking for longer! 3 days just went too fast… but it was the most special time that we will never forget!Julia and Phil
Held our wedding at the chateau, Jo has the best vendors team which I'm thankful for, making organising from Australia easy. Wine that is stocked at the chateau was amazing - my family and friends went through nearly 40 bottles of it in one week. Countryside was beautiful and the peacock on site, he is very handsome. If you keep an eye open there is deer around as well! Pool is so amazing in the sunshiny weather and when the weather turns, the woodfire is equally amazing. Thanks again for having us.
The chateau was the perfect venue for our wedding. We had our wedding in early May and the weather was unseasonably cold and wet on the day of our arrival. However it worked out well as we were able to make use of the beautiful open fire in the chateau. Weather was dry and sunny on our wedding day and went smoothly. Everyone had a great time. The wine and champagne is much better quality (and a lot cheaper) than what you get in the uk. The red is just amazing! Highly recommend the accordion player and the band fuzz. The you tube recordings do not do the band justice. Fantastic experience for all. Thanks Jo and team.
