I made a promise to write my blog on a regular basis but I think I need a helping hand so I would like to introduce you to our chateau mascot Mr Fox, I will be uploading an image but I am at the Chateau this evening so it will be on the weekend.
Mr Fox lives in our salon at Chateau de Lisse, I know he is a stuffed fox and some people have strong opinions on this, but he was here when we first started the business and he has become over the years a bit of a superstar so we could not bear to part with him now.
Mr Fox has featured in countless wedding albums and many a time been used as a prop for a photo booth, he has posed in a bikini, got down in the salle de danse.
As we are pleased to be hosting the first annual networking event for Brides in France tomorrow, Mr Fox will be reporting back shortly

Why did you choose Chateau de Lisse as your wedding venue?
There were a few reasons, starting with the venue being stunning and perfect in every way, budget being possible and great advice on where to flex to make the day as we want. The Chateau accomodates enough to have all those we love the most with us for a long enough period before and you – Jo, making me really confident we could have the most special day of our lives without any stress.
What our brides think? - January 30, 2015
As January is “nearly” behind us, we are busy completing our two new bedrooms ready to open our doors again in April.
As wedding season approaches, I am looking at what the new wedding trends are for colours, flowers, dresses, favours, cocktails etc There are some beautiful colours for this year and a hot favourite of mine is “Marsala”. I love the fact that every wedding is individual and reflects the couples personality, there are some wonderful quirky ideas, elegant and classic and just plain FUN. I can not wait to see what my 2015 brides will bring to the table.

“Our time at Chateau de Lisse was a true day dream. Imagine great and multiply it by a million. We couldn’t have asked for more and will be returning for our 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th and hopefully 50th wedding anniversary. We cannot wait.
“Jo was sincere, honest, organized, creative and a pure delight to work with. Everything she promised was even better in true life. Please let her take your hand en route to your fairytale wedding. Much love,

We held our wedding at Chateau de Lisse on the 18th May 2013. Firstly and quite obviously it is a stunning venue, but more than that the venue offered a home away from home. The bedrooms have been recently done up and everyone commented on how comfy they were. The place never seemed crowded, even with all 80 guests on the wedding day; a day that rained continuously thus made getting out of the chateau itself near impossible.
Jo was our wedding planner and was a lifesaver. Organising a wedding in another country to your own, especially a country you don’t speak the language in, was a very daunting task for us. Jo was very warm and accommodating right from the beginning. We felt confident that our expectations would be met. We were quite particular at times and Jo took it all in her stride.
The makeup artist Jo suggested was again amazing! We truly have absolutely no complaints with regards to her. She was warm, friendly, professional and our hair and makeup on the day looked stunning.
The wine the Chateau produces was great. We over catered in that department and are still drinking it to this day.
We felt our needs were meet and the passed our expectations. I didn’t want it to end and would do it all over again. We plan to hire it out again in a few years’ time to try and relive some of the fantastic memories the weekend created.

Joanne Braham was a fantastic wedding planner from start to finish; she has excellent vision, knows the Chateau inside out which makes you feel extremely comfortable and confident that she knows what works in the space and ensures that she takes into account your preferences too.
We were liaising with Jo from the UK and over time with the whirlwind that a wedding can be, had forgotten certain details that are key, but Jo always reminded us of decisions she needed us to make or questions she needed to ask in order to double check our requirements ‘just encase’ which to me was a perfect mix of having a planner and still having the control most brides want. Jo made sure that requests were never too much hassle and was very accommodating; she would research the best supplier for your needs and ensure that the budget was kept in balance with this.
With an excellent eye for detail and the time Jo takes to get to know you and what would make your wishes come true, I never doubted we would get the wedding day that we dreamed of. Jo listened in regards to budget, theme and all the small details which were important to how we wanted the day to be, which were noted in emails to ensure you the status of elements booked and that you were on track and knew the progress which put me at ease, especially considering you are leaving the biggest day of your life in someone else’s hands. Jo is certainly someone you can trust.
My day ran smoothly, looked more beautiful than I ever imagined it could (and without Jo I doubt it would have!) and I would happily plan it time and time again. I must say, since the planning part of a wedding is supposed to be so stressful I can honestly say that I miss planning and my email communications with Jo… which can only indicate what a wonderful experience the whole thing was.
